Oncology: Our doctors are committed to the diagnosis, treatment and management of your pet with cancer. Depending on the type of cancer, our doctors will either treat your pet at our hospital or refer you to an area oncologist for consultation and/or treatment.

ECG: A noninvasive test performed at our hospital that records the electrical activity of the heart and aids in the diagnosis of heart disease.

Wellness exams, Vaccinations and Preventative Health Care: An annual comprehensive physical exam promotes a long and healthy life for your pet. Our doctors will recommend the appropriate vaccine schedule and health screening tests that best suit your pet's life stage and style.

Anesthetic Monitoring: All anesthetic procedures are monitored by trained veterinary technicians using monitoring devices such as: blood pressure, pulse oximetry (measures the amount of oxygen in the blood), respiratory monitors, and ecg.

Nutritional counseling: Available for various needs in your pet's life, for example, growth, weight loss, dental disease prevention, aging and disease management.

General Surgery: Our doctors perform soft tissue, reconstructive, obstetrical and general surgical procedures. Elective surgeries, such as spays, neuters and declaws receive the same high quality care and careful anesthetic monitoring as an exploratory or orthopedic surgery.

Pharmacy: For our clients' convenience, we have a comprehensive pharmacy including the most commonly dispensed medications for all types of conditions including flea and heartworm prevention for both dogs and cats.

Orthopedic Surgery: Our doctors perform general orthopedic surgery including fracture repair, knee ligament (cruciate) repair and luxating patella surgery.

Radiographs (xray): The doctors and technicians at our hospital take full body radiographs, barium series, contrast studies and dental radiographs.

Ultrasound: Dr. Kerns, DVM, MS, DABVP, who also owns Mobile Veterinary Imaging, is at our hospital two days a week to perform our patients' ultrasounds. The machine is capable of color doppler and pulse wave doppler, which are forms of ultrasound that allow for the visualization of blood flow through the heart and vessels. Ultrasound is often used as a non-invasive method of diagnosing many types of diseases.

Dental Cleanings and Extractions: At Countryside Veterinary Hospital, we perform comprehensive dental cleanings, extractions, dental radiographs, bone graph (to promote quick healing for extractions), Ora-Vet (a tooth sealant) and comprehensive home care.

On-site Laboratory: Some of the testing available on site includes: serum chemistries, felv/fiv testing, heartworm, lyme and cytology (ear smears and skin scraping). Also there is an outside laboratory available for more complex evaluations.

Microchipping: A permanent type of identification for your pet that involves inserting a small computer chip under their skin near their shoulder blades. Collars and tags may be lost but microchipping is permanent. Countless numbers of pets have been reunited with their owners by this method.

Consultations: Our doctors are available for consultations on any type of pet problem. We also have an extensive list of experts to refer an owner if the situation warrants.

Gift Certificates: Looking for an unusual gift for a special pet or owner? Gift certificates are available in any denomination.
